Sometimes you need a break to create something special. Starting November 3, the Upholm-Hof on Borkum will temporarily close its doors. The restaurant and beer garden are taking a break for the winter, as behind the scenes, something is happening that will allow the Upholm-Hof to shine in a new light next year.
A Familiar Place Reinventing Itself
For years, the Upholm-Hof has been an integral part of Borkum’s hospitality. Whether it’s enjoying homemade cake in the sunshine, a cool drink in the beer garden, or a cozy dinner after a day at the beach—many guests associate this place with carefree moments and the feeling of having truly arrived.
An exciting time lies ahead. Over the next few months, there will be a lot of work going on in and around the Upholm-Hof. The team at Borkum Leuchtfeuer Touristik (BLT) is using the winter break to carefully continue developing this historic property. The goal is to preserve the character of the Upholm-Hof while also introducing new elements that will make it a special gathering place for guests and islanders alike.
We won’t give too much away just yet—but anyone familiar with the Upholm Farm can already look forward to a few surprises.
Until then, we’d like to thank everyone who visited us this season for the wonderful conversations, sunny afternoons in the beer garden, and unforgettable evenings in the restaurant. We look forward to welcoming you back soon at the Upholm-Hof—reimagined, lovingly designed, and with the same passion for Borkum as always.
